My given name is Dietrich, but my chosen name is Ismaël. I’m an out gay, non-binary man, born in 1977 on the Flemish country side of Belgium between Hasselt and Sint-Truiden.
I studied to be a high school teacher, but for the better part of my career I have been self-employed in various fields: Finance, Real Estate, Online Business and mostly : Self Development.
My childhood – both at home and in school – has been difficult (read my full story here) which made adult life and career very challenging.
I have always been an ambitious man, but the severe trauma put mental issues and dependence problems on my path.
Everything happens for a reason, so my difficult start in life and the challenges throughout it, made sure I would dive into every productive way of living I could find inspired by psychology, therapy, self-help and spirituality.
This challenging but incredibly inspiring and uplifting road started in 2007 after my first severe suicidal depression as a result of breaking free from heavy party drugs dependence.
I have read every book in Self Development I could find, both scientific and spiritual, sometimes up to five books at the same time, to catch up on the life flow I was starting to feel and my path in life I was starting to find.
I have travelled the world and worked with many masters (read about them here) who in essence not only saved my life, but also made me thrive in life.
My main focus has always been about balancing spirituality with common sence and here-and-now functionality.
As an economics teacher and a businessman, this is vital.
Helping people break free of whatever is holding them back and assist them in their road to become the person they were always destined to be, is my passion, my purpose and my reason for living.
